Meet Dr. Ryan Oetken

Dr. Ryan Oetken, known by his patients as Dr. Ryan, is proud to serve the Dubuque community with compassionate, high-quality dental care rooted in clinical excellence. A native of Iowa, he earned his dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed advanced training at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, where he focused on oral surgery, implant dentistry, and comprehensive care. Since 2014, Dr. Ryan has helped patients achieve healthier, more beautiful smiles by combining experience with a strong commitment to continuing education, innovation, and personalized treatment.
Dedicated to the highest standards in modern dentistry, Dr. Ryan is currently completing a fellowship at the renowned Kois Center, where he continues to expand his knowledge in evidence-based care. He is also active in the Spear Study Club, a past president of the Dubuque District Dental Society, and a proud member of the Iowa AGD, ADA, and University of Iowa Dental Alumni Board. Outside the office, Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, Alexia, and their three children. As a family, they love exploring the outdoors, especially hiking and running the Heritage Trail.

Dr. Joe was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended Loras College and The University of Iowa College of Dentistry, graduating in 1991. Dr. Joe continues to maintain and improve his dental expertise through continuing education courses and information seminars.
Dr. Joe has been happily married to his wife, Teri for 32 years. They have three children: Gus, Grace, and Tony. In his free time, Dr. Joe enjoys to play golf, boat, snow ski, read and be outside. He volunteers at the Iowa Mission of Mercy, DuRide, Sundown Ski Patrol, and in the past Dubuque Jaycee’s.
